Vehicle:Nissan Atlas
Year:1991
Modification:Nissan atlas 200,petrol engine 2000cc
General comments:i love my truck because it is very good for the African continent.I would be pleased to hear alternatives that would make me keep my truck and not lose it. Please HELP.
Problems:The Nissan Atlas is a 1991 model, petrol engine and the engine capacity is 2000cc.Mileage is at 121542.The truck now consumes much fuel and more oil. When i bought it the mileage was at 85000 and it used 5litres of petrol on 35km which can be translated to 1litre for 7km.Now it uses 1ltre for 5km or 5litres for 25km.Oil gauge drops rapidly every journey exceeding one hundred kilometres. Is it possible to get a brand new engine for the same truck or better still the rings.

This sounds very much like an engine overhaul..(test first).
You are probably damaging the bore of the motor by having too much fuel entering the cylinder and washing lubricating oil away.
Worn rings will also cause loss of compression(test will confirm if this is the case).
If you are getting blue smoke coming from the exhaust then this is an indication that oil is entering the combustion chamber.(again test to confirm).
