1998 Nissan Serena electrical problem

Report a Problem

Date:April 3, 2011, 1:46 am
Name:Nicolas
Location:Indonesia, Jakarta Raya, Jakarta
Vehicle:Nissan Serena
Year:1998
Problems:I found my car often die suddenly. When I tried to start the engine, it would not started directly. I have to wait for quite a long time until the engine finally started. I brought my car to an official Nissan workshop and their recommendation was to change the coil; but even when the coil, gasoline filter, gasoline pump are substituted with the new ones and the cable socket is cleaned up, it seem doesn't work out. My car still often die suddenly.

My 1991 Nissan Serena did this but have found it only happens when driving slowly with the A/C OR Heater on.
I now turn them off when driving through townships & keep for the Open Road.

I had the exact same problem and also did pretty much all you did to try and fix it. What I did to fix the problem was replace the distributor. Try doing that and I hope it helps.
