1998 Honda Civic Review / 5th Civic
|Date:||February 6, 2008, 8:12 am|
|Name, Location:||Ice Station Zebra, Ottawa, Ontario|
|Modification:||Civic DX Hatchback|
|General comments:||How reliable are Honda Civics? How satisfied am I? Well, this is my 5th Civic - all hatchbacks, all manual transmissions. Model years - 1977, 1983, 1989, 1991 and 1998. |
I've had the misfortune to own North American cars and 'felt the pain' of countless unscheduled visits back to the dealer during the warranty period - and afterwards.
Reference J D Power or Consumers Reports - 6th generation Honda Civic (1996 - 2000). For customer satisfaction and vehicle reliability surveys, the Honda Civic at the top.
As a matter of interest, I also own a 2003 Acura RSX Type 'S' (Honda product) with well over six figures on the odometer. The car was NEVER brought to the dealer for a warranty issue.
