Daewoo 2.2 engine oil in the coolant tank is much less a problem than coolant in the oil pan. The water pump is also the timing belt tensioner. Behind the pump there is a hole that should never have been there. it is plugged with a cast iron plug that rusts away, oil at 40 pounds of pressure or more is forced into the water. The coolant at under 20 pounds does not get in the oil. Don't turn the engine with the pump off and you wont have to reset the timing. The bottom of the hole doesn't look like a plug. by the time the start to leak whats left is about dime size. drive a small common screwdriver in and screw it out. Be sure the replacement plug is below the surface. |
