Problems: | My car has a erratic idle speed. When I remove my foot from the accellerator pedal the revs take about 10 seconds to settle and steady themselves. The rev counter needle drifts up and down at first, but then finally rests at about 900rpm. When it does rest it is as steady as a rock and the engine holds without cutting out or stalling. I have been told that the problem may be due to an air leak, but I have dismissed this on the grounds that the idle speed would 'never' settle itself, which it does. I have been told to replace the idle speed stabilizer valve, but I wasn't aware my model had one fitted. Can anybody give me any sound advice? Regards Nige | |
