similar problem pajero limited 2800 came from japan so steering wheel is switched left side to right side. problem new battery, power to starter click,no start. as if solined gets power sends small gear out to intermesh with flyweel and no power. bench test shows starter to move and work. but in car can't do shit. very hard to remove starter, don't really know how many amps is produced. think starter can't move flywheel. the engine will turn over once a day in the a.m. then only click of relay and nothing. mystery |

have you tried connecting the 2 main connections on the starter together ,with a long screwdriver, that should turn the engine over and start,in which case intermitant starter motor fault,or could be faulty ignition switch. |
