Mitsubishi recommends timing belt replacement every 80,000kms. Check your odometer and see the mileage of your car. If you plan to replace timing belt, it is also advisable to replace your waterpump. Equally important is to change the tensioners and automatic tensioner adjuster. Most mitsubishi engines use hydraulic type tensioner adjuster. This controls the tighness of your timing belt. If this tensioner adjuster fails, your timing belt will lose proper tension & alignment and will cause serious damage to your engine. |
