1998 Mitsubishi RVR gear not aganging at all what could be the cause problems

General comments: | The gears are engaging well but the vehicle can't take off it can't move at all there is no power. Have checked the ATF. And the shafts everything is alight. But just what could be the problem? | |

This is not an expert opinion. However, I am told that the Mitsubishi car won't move if the gearbox doesn't develop enough pressure. As the ATF moves through the gearbox pump the pressure is generated which is then transmitted to the converter to get the vehicle moving. You might want to check gearbox pump for bore damage that maybe resulting in pressure loss. Accessing the pump means getting the whole gearbox down; a tedious process. Counter check the above information because I only got it from a local mechanic. Thanks. |
