2004 Nissan Presage caution message on screen problems in New Zealand

| Problems: | When I start up my car and the engine is warm an error message appears on the screen. The message features a green spanner with the word 'pit' and then a whole lot of Japanese. Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? Have checked the oil and water. | |

| I have just now experienced the same caution message with a green spanner and PIT with the rest in japanese. I then took the car to the pit stop and got the oil , filters and water replaced. Yet the message wont go away. I noted a mini-disk somewhere below the steering with the ETC inscribed... what is it for ? how does one get rid of the error message after undertaking a service? |

| Where is the gas filter in the 1999 Nissan Presage van. What could possibly be the cause of the van delay in starting? I have to press the gas pedal and keep it to the floor for the engine to start. Black smoke with terrible odor comes from the van. What is wrong? |
