General comments: | Not easy to find Alternator here in the philippines.
Problems: | Weak rear suspension springs How to reinforce, with 7 Pass it buttomed. Front shock absorber no traces of leak but, it bounces back lick no shock absorber. Where to find this? Alternator failing, Diodes got burned. This only happened when you are trapped in heavy traffic like 3 hours continously.

Hi Jerry, I had the same problem with the rear suspension. Even if I go very slow on humps, the spring bottoms out. The rear shock absorber is the same as the Nissan Urvan but there are 2 types. I used the longer one and it solved the problem. The spring does not bottom out anymore even at full load. Important - Use hydraulic type and not the pneumatic type. The pneumatic shock absorber cannot handle the weight of an Ellie (Elgrand). The original shocks are hydraulic anyway. |

Hi Jerry, Please bring your elgrand to an alternator shop to upgrade it. I recommend an alternator with 120 amperes to help your elgrands electrical system. Let them check the electricals thoroughly as well. Good luck... |

Hi!. I recommend you go to PARIAN Laguna to have your rear coil springs rubber pads replaced. The coil springs sit on rubber pads above and below the housing. The original pads are only 1 1/2 inches thick. Have them replaced with 4 inches so as to support the weight of the load, and to prevent the chassis from hitting the bottom of the coil support housing..Good luck! |
