General comments: | Kindly advise as to how this matter can be remedied and prevented in the future. | |
Problems: | Appears that gasoline seeps out of the area under the back seat where the fuel pump is located. The smell of gasoline is especially strong when the tank is full. Gasoline was observed dripping under the car. | |

Your fuel pump may have been replaced by you or the previous owner and the o-ring may need to be replaced. Either it was improperly positioned when re-installation was being done or it came into with the fuel with caused it to stretch. Run the tank low before removing the the entire fuel sending unit at match the o-ring with a replacement from your local supplier. I got mine from a local supplier that sells bearings and seals. I actually drove the car the and did the swap it their parking lot one morning. |
