Problems: | I have recently had to have a new cylinder head gasket replaced because the car was emitting a thick white smoke and engine cuting off. What could be the problem and what is the lasting solution? |

Thick white smoke - Could be water mixing with oil and fuel in cylinders, but replacement of cylinder head gasket could have sorted out the problem. Your car may have overheated at some time to cause gasket to fail. Check also if there is leakage in the radiator. Engine cutting off - Most likely your crank shaft or cam shaft sensor has failed. They are the same so you can buy one and check which of the two has failed. Had similar problem (cutting off even on the highway) & replaced crank shaft sensor and all is well now. Hope this helps, though a bit late. |

Mine is a Nissan X-Trail T30 of 2006 year of manufacture. Engine cuts off even at high speed and the power steering goes on and off as I drive. I am afraid it will kill me one day! |
