1996 Opel Astra lacks power on pullaway and uphill problems

| Problems: | Recently iv'e been having problems with my astra, it happened the minute when i tried to change my sparkplugs, it did'nt idle when i replaced the plugs and i've put the old plugs back after 100 kms. Now theres no power on pullaway, even uphill. I replaced the plugs with new bosch that is originally ment for that model and the fuelfilter but did not even help, it gained a little bit of power but nothing more, there's been changes in fuel consumption also. | |

| I have the same problem as well.what happened is that the timming belt got cut.i took it to the machenical and discovered that the valves were broken and replaced with new ones as well as replacing the t/belt.when it was back on the road i noticed the engine sign light is on,on the dash board not gswitching off the idling is not stable and the power when taking off is not there.please what can I dp?help me i love this car.
