Usually nissan serena diesel engine (mine is cd20t) will automatically stop the engine when overheats, when the cooling water runs out due to leaks. Immediate refilling of water will affect the cylinder head to cracked and eventually water and oil will mix in your engine. Check the color of the engine oil by raising the engine oil dip stick. if the color is still black your engine is still ok.. If the color of the engine is milky brown the cylinder head has crack which needs replacement. Serena engine overheating needs cooling off period prior to starting since it has a sensor to cutoff the engine until the next starting. |
