General comments: | i bought the crown 2 months ago and it runs great. riding comfort is superb. no rattles and everything works, except for the pwr antena. i own a '95 nissan vanette and i get 7kms/liter. both (vanette & crown) have manual trannys & both have a 2.0 liter engine. the van has a 4cyl carburated engine & the crown has a 6cyl fuel injected engine. displacement wise, both are the same but one is a 6cyl injected and the other is a 4cyl carburated type. having said that, why is the discrepancy in their consumption so big when we were made to understand that fuel injectors are more fuel efficient then carburators. i pray that you guys/gals can help regarding this problem. i intend to keep this car for as long as i can 'coz i was made to understand that this is the last production crown here in the philippines.
Problems: | the car only gets 4kms/liter.the engine runs smooth and it doesn't consume oil. i am light on the gas pedal when driving and don't labor the engine when shifting gears. is the consumption normal? next is the steering, the steering wheel locks when i make a left u-turn, it is not as bad when i make a right u-turn. the alignment, suspension & steering components ( ball-joints, tie-rods & bushings) have been checked by two different specialists and found nothing wrong with it. have we overlooked something?
