1989 Renault Megane Sedan imobiliser key problems

| Problems: | For the third time in 4 years my key won't activate the imobiliser. The renault garage charges about 8o euros for a new key, and also a breakdown truck to get it to the garage. What causes this problem and is there a way of bypasing the imobiliser and just locking the car just using the key? |
