2000 Toyota Estima cannot get in 1st gear smoothly problems

| Problems: | Not everytime but once every few days. When I start the engine and put in "D", you can tell the gear is not in, just like it is in "N"!! When I step on the gas, the rpm ups but the car doesn't move at all!! After I keep pump on the gas, suddenly it "Bang" and the gear is in!!! What is the problem & what can I do? Thank you |
