Problems: | Believe needs fuel pump replacing. Local garage says is massive job and pump will cost loads. Is this true ? Is there an economic solution? Car is in generally good nick. Runs really well till it stops! Air had to be bled out of fuel pipe by AA man to get me home. Garage has checked a number of things and reckon is the pump most likely however they admit to little experience with these vehicles and old diesels in general . | |

You can buy a good second hand pump from gumtree. Unlike in Kenya second hand fuel pumps in UK are relatively cheap however your labour is damn expensive. It would cost me 15 pounds to have it replaced in Kenya but 150 pounds to get a second hand pump. The trick comes to the setting of the pump and timing it. |
