2000 Toyota Harrier gearbox problems

| Problems: | my harrier is refusing to enter into gear no. 4, even if you drive at 150 km/h. the problem started last week when i changed spuck plugs, at the same time the engine light is now appearing on dashboard. but i bought genuine toyota spukplugs. what is the cause and how can i fix it? please help. |

| I was having the same problem from about 1 and half month ago. Then 2 weeks ago, my gearbox burned. I understand from the mechanics that there were some issue with the exhaust sensor affecting ability to change gear properly. I had the gear fixed but the car performance is weak. Need to tweak the gearbox further.Rahman, if u r from Msia there is a good harrier workshop in Kajang. |

| Hv got the same car ,wth same problem.weneva engine light turns on th power gets low & overdrive mode fails t function as well as not changing gears to 4th gear.initialy th diagnostics machine piked faulty knock sensors & wen i changed both of them th problem stil pesisted.stil havnt found solution |

| Hi, I am experiencing a different problem, my car drives very smooth, gears change perfectly. the only issue I am having is when I come to a stop and the gearbox changes down to gear 1, I hear a knocking sound and the gearbox gives a sort of kick. Mechanics in Botswana say that's normal but I really doubt it. |

| Hi Munshi, I'm sort of having same problem like yours where when come to traffic light stop the gear was kicking hard down to gear 1. It happens for about a year. Now I'm having serious issue that whenever I parked the car for more than half a day until engine totally cool off, I'm having trouble to move it. No matter I engage D, 2 or L, car doesn't move at all. Unless I let it engage for 10mins until reaching normal operating temporature then only the gear can engaged after a few ram on the throttle. Mechanics told me by trannny burnt as I did find burnt smell on the ATF. |

| my dear brother, your gear box is about to knock. the automatic gearbox operate good on clean atf oil. its seems yr box has been lacking oil. you need to drop the oil sump and change filter. refill the box while the engine is running. use full synthetic ATF oil. |

| My toyota harrier have got aproblem of the Gearbox ,when it is cold ycan start it and travel well but not more than 100 mtrs it starts to loose drive at all. I realy don't know what is going . |

| im chaging my gear box.now having more problem.samtimes have gear 1.sametimes no gear 1 &4.u have to pull to L1 but when u push L2 the gear box got sound like pushing hard from the back.the gear box seller say check your computer.I fill this is no a computer problems its |

| pse my harrier 2000 loses my hope of driving it more. when I put on an ignition key engine warning light in yellow colour turns on, battery symbol that charging system is not working,A/T Oil TEMP symbol and a symbol showing low oil pessure turns on.When I start a car all symbol goes off.Harrier spe cialist come on to stablize my mind. |
