Problems: | Problems: Hi. I have just purchased Toyota Harrier (2000 model), 2.2L engine (5S-FE) from tradecarview under Real motors. Apparently it's fuel consumption has become very high. When I got it from Darlerslaam the fuel consumption indicated 13Km/Litre. But its now showing 7.5Km/Litre. I have changed oil, oil filter and air filrter the consumption has still remained the same. Please advice if this problem can be rectified. Regards, Misween Phiri | |

If your engine is O.K, repairing fuel consumption is good to change fuel filter, spark plugs and its assembly. First you can replace easy one spark- plug and then its assembly ( I forgot its name) finally fuel filter. But check it scanner, it needs to know all problem. |

Check your oxygen sensor, take it out and use some carburetor cleaner to clean it let it dry and put it back in. Or you can check your MAF sensor do the same thing with that, if no difference change both oxygen sensors (bank 1 and 2) as well as the maf sensor. I have a 98 harrier 3.0 thats been in the family from 99 brand new so i know every part of it. |
