2002 Toyota ist fuel consunption km / liter problems

| Problems: | My car is toyota ist 1.3, The fuel consumption is 11 - 12.5km per 1 liter of normal petrol. Is that normal or can i get more fuel milage by tuning up the fuel system. The car is passing 55000km now. I reacently replaced the spark plaugs & get done throttle body service. but not done injector cleaning & airefilter replacement. | |

| Hi , This is the peak fuel consumption of the Toyota IST, in long drives it might do up to 14 per liter max (not in the City) , Comparatively to the some of the IST's I have seen your car is doing extremely well , Change your Air filter (Has to be a original or Japanese made one)it will give you an additional mileage & smoothness , No need to do an injector cleaning at this stage since its still on 55K. | Hey, I have toyota IST 1500cc 2010 model. I get 6km per liter in city and 8/10km in highway. Air fliter is ok and its used ebout 41,000km. I am very disappointed for its fuel consumption.car is an ideal condition except fuel consumption. Can you pls tell me what is the reason? |
