Problems: | Hi, The problem that I am experiencing with my vehicle is that the fuel gauge is not working properly. I have inspected the gas tank as well and there did not seem to be any problem. In the past I have tried to replace the fuel gauge and it still does not working. Please let me know what the problem is. Thank You, JR |

Located on the back side of the gauge pod on the left hand side is a little silver square about 1/2" square and very thin. If memory serves it has a small set of wires and a pin connector on it. This governs the fuel and temperature gauges. It is not terribly expensive. Failing that it could be a sending unit problem, but you would have to run electrical tests on that. I may be at the start of the same proble now as mine is reading lower than it should, ie, I fill the tank and with in a few minutes it reads just over half a tank, possibly low gauge resistance. A quick check to see if your gauge is failing due resistence loss is to remove the gauge pod and turn it upsidedown. The needle should move slowly from one side to the other. If it just falls to the otherside immediatly your gauge is bad. |
